There are no signs to suggest that this is a byway and the first time we drove it we thought the map may be wrong and we expected that the lane would take us no further than the farm. Passing through the first gate you realise that the track does continue to the left of the farm. However you soon come to another farm building on the left and what appears to be simply the gate into a livestock field. Although looking unlikely the road does continue beyond the gate crossing a couple of fields before descending the hill on a stony track and leaving through another unmarked gate to join the main road. Across the tarmac is Tissington Ford a pleasant watersplash to clean the mud off the tyres. Continue on to Tissington a very pretty and unspoilt village.
